Despite the country's shrinking economy and automotive difficulties, the 2008 Connecticut International Auto Show grew in participation and attendance. It also grew "green" with all the attention drawing to alternative fuel solutions.
The newest hybrid models were showcased, along with the latest in diesel, electric, alternative fuel and super-compact vehicles. The hot SmartCar, Honda's Insight concept model, and Volkswagen's Jetta TDI clean diesel line were among the top attractions.
Never to be out-shined, the line of exotic vehicles (Aston Martin, Maserati, Ferrari, Bentley) were featured in the upstairs ballroom accompanied by a live jazz band. Also, as an added bonus, Dodge brought in the 1971 Challenger to compare to the 2009 Challenger, which will be auctioned off on Ebay for charity, and a 2009 Dodge Journey was given away in a drawing at the conclusion of the show.
